Building Independence
Transitioning from foster care into adulthood is both exciting and challenging. While many young adults have family members they can rely on for guidance, encouragement, or a place to turn during difficult times, former foster youth often begin adulthood without that same support system.
At Haven of Hope, we believe every young adult deserves the opportunity to build a successful future with confidence, dignity, and hope. Our STAY (Supporting Transitional Age Youth) program is designed to provide the guidance, resources, and stability that helps young adults successfully transition from foster care to independent living.
True independence is not achieved overnight. It is built through experience, encouragement, and the opportunity to practice everyday life skills in a safe and supportive environment. Our participants live independently while receiving individualized support from experienced Case Managers who help them develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed for long-term success.
We encourage young adults to pursue higher education, employment, career development, financial responsibility, healthy relationships, and meaningful connections within their communities. Along the way, participants learn to manage a household, budget their finances, access healthcare, advocate for themselves, and make informed decisions that support their personal goals.
At Haven of Hope, we recognize that independence does not mean facing life’s challenges alone. Every young adult deserves a strong support system while building a foundation for adulthood. Our role is to provide encouragement, accountability, and practical guidance so participants can move forward with the confidence necessary to become self-sufficient, successful members of their communities.
We believe that, with the right support, every young adult has the ability to thrive, achieve their goals, and create a future filled with opportunity and success.
Every milestone matters. Every goal achieved is a reflection of the determination, strength, and potential of the young adults we serve.
