Council on Accreditation

We are pleased to announce that our programs have achieved accreditation through the Council on Accreditation — also known as COA.

The Council on Accreditation (COA) is an international, independent, nonprofit, human service accrediting organization.

COA was founded in 1977 by the Child Welfare League of America and Family Service America (now the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities). This accreditation ensures all of our programs and services are being delivered at the highest possible standards.

Achieving accreditation was not easy; it took us over a year to complete this challenging process. During that time, COA reviewed all aspects of our program’s services.

COA accreditation will provide you with the confidence that our services are among the best in the nation.

Haven of Hope

At Haven of Hope, we believe every young adult transitioning from foster care deserves the opportunity to build a stable, successful, and independent future.

Through our Supporting Transitional Age Youth (STAY) program, we provide safe and stable housing, individualized case management, and the support needed to help Non-Minor Dependents (NMDs) develop the confidence and skills necessary for independent living.

Our program empowers participants to pursue their educational and career goals while strengthening essential life skills, including financial management, employment readiness, healthy decision-making, self-advocacy, and personal responsibility. Our participants receive individualized guidance and encouragement as they work toward achieving stability, self-sufficiency, and lifelong success.

At Haven of Hope, we believe that independence is built through opportunity, support, and meaningful relationships. Our experienced staff are committed to helping every participant reach their full potential and confidently transition into adulthood.

Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of former foster youth by creating opportunities, building hope, and empowering the next generation of independent adults.

California of Alliance

We are proud to be members of the California of Alliance.

The California Alliance of Child and Family Services is the unifying force in the charge to lead change and provide support for the state’s children, youth and families.

All members of the California Alliance have been accredited by, or are in the process of being accredited by, an Alliance recognized national accrediting body including either the Council on Accreditation (COA), the Joint Commission or CARF.

Accreditation is a total evaluation of an agency’s operating systems. Review teams include executives and specialized staff of similar organizations from around the nation who are guided by standards in the areas of governing body, finances, personnel, safety and the specific program(s).

The accreditation standards are based on sound theory and practice, and focus on the systems and procedures that are the essential elements of a healthy organization dedicated to the best interest of children and families.
